Privacy Policy

1. What This Policy Covers

Erascend ("we," "us," "the Service") is a career intelligence platform, operated by Erascend LLC, an Indiana limited liability company, that helps you track job opportunities, generate application materials, and prepare for interviews using your own resume, career history, and saved search criteria. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, who else touches it, and the choices you have.

2. Information We Collect

Account information. Your email address and authentication credentials, managed through our authentication provider (Supabase Auth).

Career and professional content you provide. Your resume, a career prospectus/summary, your LinkedIn profile content, and any other supporting documents you upload. This is the core material the Service uses to evaluate job matches and generate application documents on your behalf.

Job opportunity data. Job postings you save or paste into the Service, along with company, role, compensation, location, status, and any notes you add. If you paste a full job description, that text is stored and used to extract and match against the role.

Search criteria. Keywords, minimum salary, and location preferences you configure for the automated job scanner.

Interview and reflection content. Interview feedback you log, and — if you choose to use them — personal reflection and legacy-related content you enter voluntarily in optional parts of the Service. This can include sensitive personal history (for example, health, family, or legal matters) if you choose to include it as part of an honest personal record; we don't ask for this, and it's entirely up to you what you include. This content is handled the same as any other personal content described in this policy — stored, processed by AI as described in Sections 3–4, and subject to the same retention and deletion rules in Section 5.

Conversations with the Service's AI features. If you use the Service's chat-based coaching features, those conversations are stored so they can be referenced in later sessions.

Usage and activity data. Timestamps of account activity (logins, saved-search changes, status updates), and records of AI feature usage (which feature was used, token/cost estimates) — used for cost management and the automated behavior described in Section 3.

Payment information (paid plan only). If you subscribe to the paid plan, your card details are collected and processed directly by our payment processor, Stripe — we never see or store your full card number. We retain only what Stripe needs to identify your account with them (a customer/subscription reference) and your subscription status, so the Service knows which plan you're on.

We do not collect: full payment card numbers (Stripe handles and stores these directly — see above), and we do not run third-party advertising trackers or sell any data to advertisers.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use your career content to power the Service's core features: matching you against job postings, generating career intelligence briefs, interview playbooks, resumes, and cover letters, and surfacing patterns across your career history.

Optional personal reflection features. If you choose to use them, your personal reflections and memories are used to generate Legacy Prospectus (a shareable keepsake document) and Personal Growth Intelligence™ (a private, self-facing pattern analysis) — both built only from what you've entered in those optional parts of the Service. If you generate Revelations, it works differently: it never reads your raw personal reflections or memories directly. It only reads the already-generated Legacy Prospectus and/or Personal Growth Intelligence™ documents (and your already-generated career pattern analysis) to look for genuine connections between your career and personal patterns — so raw personal material is never mixed directly into anything career-facing, or vice versa.

Automated scanning and account activity. The Service runs an automated background scanner that searches job postings against your saved criteria. For accounts with recent activity, this scan runs every 4 hours. If an account has had no activity — no logins, saved-search changes, or application/status updates — for 15 or more consecutive days, the Service automatically reduces scanning to once daily until activity resumes. This is a cost- and resource-management measure: it uses your own account's activity timestamps to determine how frequently the Service performs work on your behalf, not to make any judgment about you, and does not affect your ability to search, view, or use the rest of the Service at full functionality at any time. Logging back in and resuming activity restores 4-hour scanning going forward.

Other automated processing. Match scores, priority levels, and document generation are produced using AI models (see Section 4) applied to your saved career content and job postings — not by a human reviewer, unless you contact us directly.

4. Third Parties and AI Processing

AI processing (OpenAI). To score job matches and generate documents (career intelligence briefs, interview playbooks, resumes, cover letters), relevant portions of your resume, prospectus, LinkedIn content, and the job posting text are sent to OpenAI's API for processing. This happens each time you add a new opportunity, run a match/rescore, or build a package. If you use the optional Legacy features, your personal reflections and memories are similarly sent to OpenAI's API when you generate or regenerate Legacy Prospectus or Personal Growth Intelligence™; generating Revelations sends the already-generated text of those documents (not your raw reflections or memories) to OpenAI's API.

Job search sources. The background scanner queries public job board APIs (including Adzuna, Jooble, The Muse, Workday, Greenhouse, Lever, Workable, Recruitee, SmartRecruiters, RemoteOK, and Arbeitnow) using your saved search keywords, salary minimum, and location preferences. These are generic search terms, not your personal identity or resume content — none of your personal or career content is sent to these sources.

Infrastructure. The Service is hosted on Vercel (application hosting and serverless functions) and Supabase (database, authentication, and file storage). Both process data as part of running the Service and are bound by their own standard hosting security practices.

Payment processing (Stripe). If you subscribe to the paid plan, Stripe processes your payment directly and handles your card details under its own privacy and security practices. We receive and store only your subscription status and Stripe's reference identifiers for your account, not your card number.

Operational alerts. If part of the Service's automated infrastructure fails (for example, the background scanner), a notification is sent to the Service operator via Resend, a transactional email provider. These alerts contain technical/operational details (error messages, account identifiers) needed to diagnose the failure, not your career content.

We do not sell your personal information to any third party.

5. Data Retention

Opportunity-specific data (a saved job opportunity, its posting text, and any documents generated for it) is retained for up to 2 years from when it was added, after which it is automatically summarized into a general findings record and the opportunity-specific data is deleted. Your resume, prospectus, LinkedIn content, and other general career knowledge are retained indefinitely unless you delete them or close your account.

You can delete individual saved opportunities at any time from within the Service. To request deletion of your account and all associated data, contact us at the address in Section 10.

6. Data Security

Your data is stored in a database with row-level access controls, meaning your account's data is isolated from other users' accounts. Access to raw data is limited to what the Service's automated systems need to operate. No method of storage or transmission is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

7. Your Rights and Choices

You can review, edit, or delete most of your saved data directly within the Service. You may request a copy of your data or full account deletion by contacting us. If you are located somewhere with statutory data rights (e.g., GDPR, CCPA), those rights apply in addition to what's described here.

8. Children's Privacy

The Service is not directed at, and is not knowingly used by, anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect information from minors.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy as the Service changes. Material changes will be reflected here with an updated date.
